Costa Rica Weddings Abroad

This destination is ideal for an elopement for two, perhaps joined by a few of your closest friends and family, as well as a one-of-a-kind honeymoon! 

For our Costa Rica properties, you’ll be holding your wedding events in the resort, and will have an experienced wedding coordinator helping you every step of the way. Our properties on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica offer a range of packages to cater to size, budget, and taste. The resorts will offer a complementary package, when booking a certain room category and when staying for specified number of nights. These package inclusions vary per resort, but often cover the basics of a ceremony, the bouquet and boutonniere for the wedding couple, a wedding cake and champagne toast for a handful of friends and family, special touches such as a spa discount or romantic dinner for the 2 of you. For those wanting to go all out, packages are available that include a rehearsal dinner, cocktail party and sit-down dinner reception, plus a video of your ceremony and your hair and make-up artist. There really is something for everyone, and an array of venues you can make your own.

For a symbolic or legal wedding in Costa Rica, you need to arrive 2 business days before your ceremony, though resorts recommend 3, and your arrival day counts as day 0. 

Your legal fees, such as the notary and translation costs are not included in your wedding package, however some resorts will include the services of a judge or minister in their more comprehensive packages. Your dedicated in-resort wedding coordinator will help you with the legal arrangements. After your ceremony, you will be sent your notarised and translated marriage license to your home address. This can take 8 – 12 weeks to come through.

In Costa Rica, same-sex marriages are legal. This means you can have both a legal and symbolic ceremony at most resorts. 

Most resorts will offer you and your party a form of group benefits. This can range from free rooms and room upgrades, extra events for your wedding, or extra amenities. A selection of resorts will do this for you, without any need for a group booking deposit, or everybody needing to book at the same time. It’s easy and convenient for you and your friends and family. If you’re looking to launch your own wedding website, we can offer you a selection of prices and special offer details to share. To receive these benefits, you’ll often need to avoid certain dates as usually Easter and Christmas week would be excluded, and you and your guests need to be booked through the same company. There are direct flights to Costa Rica, Liberia Airport, from London Gatwick, from November - April. Unfortunately the direct flight is seasonal, and not available over the Summer months. There are also easy connecting flight options via Toronto Canada, and the USA (ESTA Visa required for USA connections).

The resorts in our progam are located in Guanacaste, the North West Pacific state of the country. The closest airport is Liberia Airport, rather than San Jose, which can be a 4 - 5 hour car journey.

The resorts in our program offer the all-inclusive experience with all the entertainment and activities you’d need. However, the destination is famous for it’s rich culture, site seeing opportunities, wildlife and natural environment. You can’t fly all that way without going whale watching, coasting down the white water rapids, or walking through the tropical cloud rain forest.
