The following list of requirements is needed for a legal marriage. Bride(s), groom(s) and witnesses must arrive in Cancun four business days prior to the wedding day (Saturdays, Sundays and holidays do not count). Symbolic and non-legal ceremonies allow flexibility for arrival date. Please speak with the wedding coordinator to discuss requirements.
The in-resort wedding coordinator must receive the following documents to begin the application for marriage in the civil registry office.
• Tourist Card (Received upon arrival at Cancun International Airport)
• Bride(s) or groom(s) are divorced, they will need their original birth certificates and final divorce decrees.
• Valid passports
• Bride(s) and groom(s) birth certificates
• If the couple would like their parent’s names on the marriage certificate, a translated, certified copy of their birth certificates needs to be sent to the wedding coordinator one month prior to wedding date.
• $250 USD (per couple) fee for blood test must be taken in Mexico.
• $600 USD for the city hall court fees and application process
• The names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupation, relationship, copy of a tourist card and a valid identification of the four witnesses. The wedding coordinator will send you the legal form. The witnesses can be relatives, friends or anyone with a valid passport.
