Dominican Republic Wedding FAQs

Yes, the resorts will happily cater to your religion, and have a rabi perform your ceremony rather than a minister for example. For those looking for a Catholic wedding, you’ll need to be married in a consecrated venue. A selection of resorts have these on property. If you’d prefer a different resort or venue, your ceremony can be held by a Catholic priest, this would be a blessing rather than a wedding, as the venue is not consecrated.

For most resorts, they can, though each resort will have different rules. They’ll often charge a wedding pass and apply a maximum external guest rule. For example, perhaps only 20% of your guest list can stay elsewhere and come in on the day. A way around this, is for your guests to come to your resort for several nights over your wedding dates, and then move on to a resort of their choice.
