Wedding venue information

Overlooking the secluded Pissouri Bay on the southern coast of Cyprus sits the Columbia Beach Resort, an exclusive 5-star resort and a perfect wedding destination. Pissouri beach is a crescent-shaped bay that boasts a backdrop of dramatic cliffs and whitewashed villas. Pissouri is the third largest village in the Limassol area, which is steeped in history and includes the Limassol Castle, famous for being the venue where Richard the Lionheart got married. Today the castle is host to the Medieval Museum of Cyprus, with exhibitions from the entire island. Based in the town centre, the castle is surrounded by restaurants and street cafes where you can sit and soak up the atmosphere. Also known for its exciting nightlife, Limassol comes to life in the evenings with its many nightclubs and bistros. For a day outdoors, there is the Adventure Mountain Park in the village of Kyperounta, filled with breath-taking nature trails and views as well as educational adventures including paintball, archery and laser tag, rock climbing and ice-skating. You can also take in the beautiful botanical gardens together with the local cuisine of the park's restaurant.

How much does a Cyprus wedding cost?

The price of your wedding will depend entirely on the venue you choose, the size of your party and any additional extras you choose. The cost of a Cypriot wedding, however, can average less than a quarter of the cost of the average wedding in the UK – plus you get the benefit of guaranteed sunshine! Our specialists will be able to give you a much clearer idea of price once you have discussed your requirements with them, and will work closely with you to stick to your budget.

Where do I start with booking a wedding in Cyprus?

Our Cyprus wedding experts know the location well and can answer any questions you might have. Once you’ve chosen the perfect venue, the booking process begins. Our specialists will work with you through every step and add any extras on for you, so you won’t need to worry about a thing.

What type of wedding can I have in Cyprus?

You can choose between a Catholic, Anglican or Civil wedding in Cyprus. For the former, your Catholic ceremony must be preceded by a civil wedding ceremony in order to be legally binding in the UK. Additionally, one of you must be Catholic, both of you must be baptised in a Christian church and neither of you may be divorced.

The Anglican Church, however, will accept divorcees, although at least one of you must have been baptised as a Christian.

Civil ceremonies are modern and practical. You will be issued with a marriage certificate immediately after the ceremony, which is recognised worldwide.

Can I pay in instalments?

Absolutely. When making your booking we can arrange a payment plan to suit you.

Can you help with my guests’ bookings?

Our specialists are here to help, so if you’d like to take the stress of booking away from close friends and family members, just let us know and we can do it for them.

What should I wear?

If you’re getting married in the hotter months, you might want to avoid bulky, heavy dresses and thick makeup. Take a look at the average temperatures for the time of year you are getting married and be sensible with your attire choices.

Marriages performed in Cyprus are legally binding and internationally recognised. Procedures aren’t particularly complex, which is why the destination is so popular for weddings. Below are the important legalities you need to know to ensure your Cyprus wedding runs as smoothly as possible.

There is a minimum residency period of three working days, meaning, if you are having a hotel ceremony, you must stay at the hotel for at least three days prior to your wedding day.

A selection of documents will be required by both the bride and groom, including birth certificates, your passport and a Single Statutory Declaration, which certifies your right to marry. The latter is only available for two months, so make sure you don’t apply for this too early.
