Weddings in Mexico

Our properties in Mexico offer a range of packages to cater to size, budget, and taste. Most resorts will offer a complementary package, when booking a certain room category and when staying for specified number of nights. These package inclusions vary per resort, but often cover the basics of a ceremony, the bouquet and boutonniere for the wedding couple, a wedding cake and champagne toast for a handful of friends and family, special touches such as a spa discount or romantic dinner for the 2 of you. For those wanting to go all out, packages are available that include a rehearsal dinner, cocktail party and sit-down dinner reception, plus a video of your ceremony and your hair and make-up artist. There really is something for everyone, and an array of venues you can make your own. For our Mexico properties, you’ll be holding your wedding events in the resort, and will have an experienced wedding coordinator helping you every step of the way.

For a symbolic wedding in Mexico, you need to arrive 3 business days before your ceremony, 4 days for a legal ceremony, and your arrival day counts as day 0.

Your legal fees, such as the notary and translation costs are not included in your wedding package, however some resorts will include the services of a judge or minister in their more comprehensive packages. Your dedicated in-resort wedding coordinator will help you with the legal arrangements. After your ceremony, you will be sent your notarised and translated marriage license to your home address. This can take 8 – 12 weeks to come through.

In Mexico, same-sex marriages are legal. This means you can have both a legal and symbolic ceremony at most resorts. 

Many resorts will offer you and your party a form of group benefits. This can range from free rooms and room upgrades, extra events for your wedding, or extra amenities. A selection of resorts will do this for you, without any need for a group booking deposit, or everybody needing to book at the same time. It’s easy and convenient for you and your friends and family. To receive these benefits, you’ll often need to avoid certain dates as usually Easter and Christmas week would be excluded, and you and your guests need to be booked through the same company. Getting to Mexico is nice and easy, with multiple direct flights out of various UK airports. For those travelling out of Ireland, there are connecting flights via the USA and other European cities such as Paris. You’ll often fly out in the daytime and fly back to the UK on an overnight flight.

Most resorts in the Mexican Caribbean, offer the all-inclusive experience with all the entertainment and activities you’d need. However, the destination is famous for it’s rich culture and history. You can’t fly all that way without visiting the ocean front Mayan ruins of Tulum, or immersing yourself in all things Mexico at Xcaret park, complete with underground rivers, Jaguar Island, coral reef snorkelling and a majestic Butterfly House.

In destination, you have 4 areas to choose from:

• Firstly you have Cancun hotel zone, with easy access to the nightclubs and public transport. These resorts tend to more compact, and are located on the famous white sand beach with the turquoise sea.
• Just North of Cancun Hotel Zone, you have Playa Mujeres, a gated complex with wide beaches, calm waters and a view of Isla Mujeres and Cancun Hotel Zone.
• You then have the Riviera Maya, which is divided by North & South. These resorts tend to be spread out with tropical gardens and a private feel to the beaches. North Riviera Maya is known as Riviera Cancun, which stretches from the airport down to Playa Del Carmen. The South of the Riviera Maya contains the exciting city of Playa Del Carmen, and the boutique towns of Akumal and Tulum.

Most daytime excursions, golf courses and adventure parks are found along the Riviera Maya, with great night life in Playa Del Carmen.
