The wonderful Lighthouse wedding & event Venue sits on the coast of the Algarve Region, near the town of Carvoeiro, with the area known for is relaxed atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and picturesque cliffs, making it a popular wedding destination if you are looking for a wedding in Portugal. Once a small fishing village, Carvoeiro has evolved into a popular tourist location whilst still retaining is quaint and cosy atmosphere. Famed for its white-washed pretty houses, narrow streets, and breathtaking cliffside views of the Atlantic Ocean, Carvoeiro is also a great honeymoon destination. The interesting coastline is home to a series of dramatic limestone cliffs and caves, like the natural formations of the Algar Seco, and the famous Benagil Cave, a sea cave accessible by boat, paddleboard or kayak, with a distinctive skylight allowing this cave to create a truly magical atmosphere. A visit to the historical fort of Nosse Senhora da Encarnação, with its fabulous views of Carvoeiro and the surrounding coastline. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can sample the local cuisine and fresh seafood, where you can relax in the tranquil atmosphere. The evenings can be spent at the many bars and cafes that Carvoeiro have to offer, where the nightlife offers live music and a friendly atmosphere.

The staff at the Lighthouse Wedding & Event Venue will try to cater to all dietary needs, and the menus can include, buffets, BBQs, and a fine dining experience. Welcome drinks and canapes can be provided, as well as flowers and table decorations. Live music is permitted up to 11pm, with ambience music allowed up to 1am, allowing you and your guests to enjoy dancing under the sunset.

Weddings in Portugal are mostly symbolic ceremonies so you will need to have the legal part performed here in the UK.There are some places that recognise weddings legally so speak to one of our specialists for advise.

2.I do not really know where to stay in Portugal?

To marry in Portugal there are no minimum residency requirements. You will require your full passport and birth certificate. Depending on your previous marital status other documents are required.
