Imagine taking your vows in one of the most impressive Venetian architectural structures on the island of Corfu. Built between 1663 and 1639 and made with mainly marble and stone, the elegant Town Hall can be found nestled in the heart of the Old Town of Corfu. Once only visited by nobleman, the Corfu Town Hall is the perfect venue for anyone looking to have their wedding in Corfu. Steeped in history, the Corfu Town Hall hosted the Noble Theatre of Saint Giacomo, operating from 1733 to 1893, and was the first Greek opera house. A meeting point for Italian musicians and composers, with Greek musicians also able to present their works, the first Greek opera took place in this wonderful building in 1867 on an exclusively Greek Libretto. The gardens of the Corfu Town Hall, namely the Palace Garden, was built in 1833 for the nobles to walk through, now open to the public to enjoy, it is more locally known as the Garden of the People, and makes for a great wedding destination.
If you are looking for a wedding venue that is rich in history, then the Corfu Town Hall will definitely give you this, with its beautiful gardens, it’s the perfect place to say “I do”. Ceremonies normally take place on either a Wednesday or a Friday. Taxis, minibus or even a Private VIP car can be provided to take you to and from the venue. Ceremonies may also take place at Marasleio Megaro, where the registration office is situated, with the Town Hall deciding on the exact ceremony location closer to the wedding date. Enjoy your wedding reception at a choice of venues such as a beautiful hotel, a traditional local taverna or a trendy restaurant. A popular reception venue is the magical Old Fortress, situated next to the sea where you can enjoy stunning views and authentic Greek dishes. This beautiful area of the Old Town Corfu is also the perfect place to have your wedding pictures taken with stunning views and historical buildings.
No matter what your wedding style is, you can be sure the Corfu Town Hall is a suitable wedding venue that will give you a historical ambience, mixed with authentic Greek culture, that will turn your wedding day into the magical experience you have dreamed of. Arrive in style with a Private VIP car and take your vows in this charming majestic building where once, only noblemen were allowed, before enjoying your reception in a local venue with all the Greek charm of the town of Corfu.
