You will find the traditional Greek Aghios Apostolos Chapel, an orthodox monastery, situated in the peaceful area of the harbour in Faliraki on the Island of Rhodes. If you are looking for a traditional Greek wedding then this would be a perfect wedding destination, but don’t let the serenity of the harbour fool you because, if you venture a little further into Faliraki, you will be amazed by the vast choice of great things to do in this Greek village. For instance, you can walk down to the harbour which comes to life around 7am with fishermen catching fresh fish to sell on the markets, then in the afternoon why not have fun at one of the biggest waterparks in Europe. The Faliraki Water Park covers a huge 100,000 sqm, and includes the giant water slides of up to 140 metres long and a huge wave pool. For a more laid back ride why not meander along the lazy river ride before doing some retail therapy in the many boutiques and craft shops in the famous Faliraki Square. Finish the day off by heading out for the evening to dance the night away in the many night clubs that Faliraki has to offer.

Weddings at Aghios Apostolos Chapel

What could be more romantic and breath-taking than having a violinist or accordionist serenading you as you cross the quaint little bridge to this beautiful blue and white chapel before you say “I do”? Your ceremony can take place inside the chapel, or outside on the terrace where your guests can be seated or standing. The surrounding area is so picturesque and makes for the perfect backdrop for your wedding pictures. The chapel offers champagne drinks after the ceremony or you can choose to take a champagne cruise and sail off into the sunset. There are plenty of restaurants nearby that will cater for your reception, and your decorations can be moved to your reception area as well. Weddings are held on weekdays between 15.00hrs and 19.00hrs and guests are asked to use only biodegradable confetti. Civil weddings can be held outside the chapel and a floral arch, chapel stands and chairs with covers and bows can be provided.

1.Where is best in Greece for my wedding?

There is lots of choice in Greece from mainland to the islands.

2.Will they speak English?

As with most locations if the officient does not speak English they will have a translator for you.

3.Is my ceremony legal?

Yes it will be legal as long as you produce the correct paperwork, depending on where in Greece you choose you may have to go to the local town hall to complete the legal part of the ceremony but the symbolic ceremony can be done in the hotel.

4.Can you book all my guests?

Yes we can, let us know who you want to come and we will get it sorted for you.

Legalities

To be able to marry in Greece you will need to be resident for between 7 and 8 days. You will require your full birth certificate and passport as well as other legal documentation depending on your previous marital status. You will require a certificate of no impediment from a solicitor. Once documentation has been obtained they must be sent to the Foreign Office to get an Apostile Stamp, All legal documentation required must be translated into Greek and legalised by the Greek Consulate. This procedure can take time so please make sure you allow plenty of time for this. All information is for guidance purposes and based on british passport holders, couples need to obtain and research there required documentation
