Carpe Diem
If you are thinking of the perfect wedding destination, then look no further than Carpe Diem in the beautiful village of Pyrgos, Santorini. Perched on the edge of Pyrgos hill, the Carpe Diem boasts 270 degree views and total privacy. Once, Santorini’s capital, Pyrgos is very popular for Santorini weddings, with its incredible sunsets and Greek culture, not to mention its whitewashed cave houses and blue domed churches. Along with being the most well preserved village on Santorini, Pyrgos also has one of the best of the island’s five medieval castles, and where most of Santorini wineries are located in the surrounding areas. If you like churches then take a hike up to the top of the hill and visit the Church of Mary, where you can go inside and see its glorious interior. Santorini’s most renowned engineer, the late George Kopatsaris was responsible for the meticulously crafted property that is the Carpe Diem and the Kopatsaris family still run the venue making sure they are still providing the highest quality of service.
The Carpe Diem is the ideal wedding venue no matter what wedding style you prefer. Affording magnificent views and stunning sunsets, it is the perfect place to take your vows. Carp Diem means to “seize the day” and that is exactly what you can do on your special day. With the capacity for 150 guests seated, the ceremonies last 1.5hrs, and there is an elevated stage area for the couple, together with a white alter table, lanterns with candles and white chairs. There is access to the toilets throughout the ceremony, and a sound system is included. If you choose to have both your ceremony and reception at the Carpe Diem then the duration of the event is 7.5 hrs, with a designated dining area being adjacent to the wedding ceremony area. You have a choice of round, rectangle or oval chairs, and a Gazebo can be arranged for an additional fee. The Carp Diem is committed to helping the environment and is the island’s first climate positive hotel, with monthly measuring and tracking of their CO2 emissions, planting their own forest of trees in Madagascar and running on 100% certified renewable energy (wind and solar) being just some of the positive environmentally friendly acts.
By choosing the Carpe Diem you know your whole day will be meticulously planned for you, from exchanging your vows in a beautiful setting to feasting on locally sourced produce and fine wines whilst watching the sunset with your guests. The Carpe Diem offers luxurious rooms for you and your guests with an on-site spa, available for hotel guests.
